Eni targets year-end FID for Argentina LNG FLNG development

The project would deploy two nearshore FLNG vessels to monetize Vaca Muerta gas, with initial LNG production targeted for 2030.

Why this news matters:

  • The project would use two FLNG vessels to monetize gas from Argentina's Vaca Muerta formation and create a new LNG export route.

  • A year-end investment decision would mark a significant step toward bringing up to 12 MMt/yr of LNG capacity online, with first production targeted for 2030.
