As we reflect on 2025, Managing Editor Bruce Beaubouef presents Offshore’s much-anticipated annual list of the Top 5 oil and gas discoveries, signaling continued exploration success. These rankings, based on announcements and preliminary assessments through early November, highlight estimated recoverable reserves (primarily oil equivalent).

Looking ahead, the industry is already advancing plans that will drive progress in technological innovation, decarbonization, AI and digitalization, electrification, and more in the coming years.

Offshore's November/December issue explores many of these critical themes.

For example, Net Zero Technology Centre’s Niki Chambers explains why platform electrification remains the single biggest lever for emissions reduction and why carbon capture could be the next frontier.

Additionally, our London-based editor, Jeremy Beckman, examines how expanding seafloor infrastructure heightens exposure to sabotage, accidental damage and geopolitical risks. His exclusive report features insights from leaders at the International Marine Contractors Association, Global Underwater Hub and Tampnet.

Finally, don’t miss Offshore’s 4th annual Executive Perspectives Special Report, featuring Q&A interviews with senior leaders from:

The report also includes a North Sea production update, a three-step framework for moving from quick wins to AI transformation, the shift toward fully autonomous production platforms, legal strategies shaping technology innovation, and a vibration mitigation case study.

Also, in case you missed it, as a media partner of the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference, which took place Nov. 3-6 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Offshore published the ADIPEC 2025 Special Report. This compilation highlights news, executive insights, project updates, technology advances and conversations discussed at the event.

We invite you to explore these insights shaping the future of offshore energy. Enjoy!
