Seatrium has confirmed the sailaway of LNGT Türkiye, the seventh floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) the company has converted from an LNG carrier for Karpowership since 2018 at the Admiralty Yard.

The others are LNGT Africa, LNGT Asia, LNGT Europe, LNGT Antarctica, LNGT Americas and LNGT Oceania. The conversion process involves cryogenic, marine and gas-handling systems integration works.

All the vessels supply feed gas to Karpowership's floating power plants, stationed offshore four continents.

LNGT Türkiye also holds special significance as the final project completed for Karpowership at Seatrium Admiralty Yard ahead of its scheduled return to the authorities in Singapore by 2028.

Last year, the two companies signed a letter of intent covering the conversion of three further LNG carriers into FSRUs, one of which has since led to a contract award for the LNGT Karadeniz conversion project.

The vessel will be capable of delivering up to 600 MMcf/d of regasification capacity across multi-pressure send-out systems.

Karpowership operates a fleet of 45 Powerships with a combined installed capacity of more than 8.5 MW.
