Sleipnir takes onboard large LNG consignment

Heerema’s semisubmersible crane vessel Sleipnir has received the largest LNG bunkering ever completed, the company claims.

ROTTERDAM, the NetherlandsHeerema’s semisubmersible crane vessel Sleipnir has received the largest LNG bunkering ever completed, the company claims.

Titan LNG performed the delivery of almost 3,300 metric tons (3,637 tons) within a 24-hr period, using the LNG carrier Coral Fraseri in the Port of Rotterdam.

The Sleipnir arrived at the Port over a week ago following various offshore installation programs. The vessel has a hot/cold energy recovery system and is able to run on LNG.

According to Heerema, LNG emits a less CO2 than other commonly used fuels.
