Petrobras lines up Intermoor for subsea moorings support

Operator Petrobras has awarded Intermoor a three-year contract to provide subsea services offshore Brazil. The scope of work covers inspection, preservation, maintenance and operational readiness tasks for subsea interconnection, mooring and anchoring materials.
Intermoor will supply mooring components such as chains, steel wire ropes, anchors, connectors, load collars, anode collars, adapters and other load-handling equipment items.
The contract covers equipment used to keep FPSOs and other floating production facilities securely positioned over offshore fields.
The services will include visual and dimensional inspection of all mooring materials and accessories; non-destructive testing, including magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing; cleaning and surface preparation; surface treatment and painting for preservation; maintenance, repair, replacement and reconditioning of anchoring components; handling, transportation, storage and preservation of materials.
In addition, Intermoor will set aside 20,000 sq m at its Açu Port yard for temporary storage of Petrobras materials undergoing maintenance, supporting the identification, organization and traceability of materials throughout the maintenance process.
Petrobras' offshore production strategy
The award is Intermoor's third Petrobras contract in less than a year, extending a long-standing relationship between the companies in Brazil's offshore sector. Intermoor said the work will support Petrobras' offshore operations across its extensive subsea infrastructure portfolio.
Petrobras continues expanding its FPSO fleet in Brazil's presalt Santos and Campos basins, making reliable mooring and anchoring systems essential for safe operations and production continuity.
