The Transocean Spitsbergen is a harsh-environment, ultradeepwater, semisubmersible rig.
Equinor has exercised a two-well option with Transocean for the semisub Transocean Spitsbergen to continue operations offshore Norway.
The program is due to start in first-quarter 2026 in direct continuation of the rig’s current contract. The estimated value of the extension is about $100 million, excluding additional services.
