GEOJE, South KoreaPetronas’ second floating liquefied natural gas facility PFLNG DUA has undergone a naming ceremony at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje Island, South Korea.

The JGC Corp. and Samsung consortium is responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the FLNG facility.

Construction started in 2015 and is progressing on schedule for completion and sail away in February 2020, according to Petronas.

The PFLNG DUA will be moored over the Rotan gas field, 140 km (87 mi) offshore Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, at a water depth of 1,300 m (4,265 ft).

The 393-m (1,289-ft) long vessel will have the capacity to produce 1.5 MM metric tons of LNG per annum.
