NEW ORLEANS – Offshore oil and gas operators are re-boarding platforms and rigs in the Gulf of Mexico after Hurricane Delta.
Based on data from 40 offshore operator reports submitted to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), personnel remain evacuated from 124 production platforms.
No personnel are evacuated from non-dynamically positioned rigs, and all DP rigs that moved off location for Hurricane Delta are back on location in the Gulf.
From operator reports, BSEE estimates that about 69.4% of the current oil production and 47.1% of the natural gas production in the Gulf have been shut-in. This equates to 1,282,898 b/d of oil and 1,276.4 MMcf/d of gas.
