NEW ORLEANS – Offshore oil and gas operators are returning to platforms and rigs in the Gulf of Mexico after Hurricane Zeta.

According to the Bureau of Environmental Enforcement (BSEE), personnel remain evacuated from 153 production platforms and two non-DP rigs. Two DP rigs remain off location.

From 42 operator reports, BSEE estimates that about 66.29% of the current oil and 40.23% of the natural gas production in the Gulf have been shut-in. This equates to 1,226,413 b/d of oil and 1,090.2 MMcf/d of natural gas.
