NEW ORLEANS – Personnel remain evacuated from 274 production platforms and seven non-dynamically positioned rigs in the Gulf of Mexico as Hurricane Delta nears Louisiana, according to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).
Fourteen DP rigs have moved off location.
Based on data from 44 offshore operator reports, BSEE estimates that about 91.55% of the current oil production and 62.17% of the natural gas production in the Gulf have been shut-in. This equates to 1,693,607 b/d of oil and 1,684.9 MMcf/d of gas.
