Repsol expects project startups soon, Cue Energy workovers are underway and Technip Energies has secured a new FEED contract.

Equinor revealed in its latest results update that the FPSO for its Bacalhau project has reached its destination in the presalt Santos Basin offshore Brazil, and should deliver first oil later in the year.

Meanwhile, Repsol expects to participate in three more project startups in the Americas this year, following Cypre, which produced first gas offshore Trinidad in early April.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, the company is involved in the LLOG-operated Leon-Castile deepwater development in the Keathley Canyon, which is expected to start production in August. It's also a partner to TotalEnergies in the Lapa South-West subsea tieback to the Lapa FPSO 300 km offshore Brazil, which is due to go online in November.

Cue Energy, in its review of activities, said workovers are underway at the OMV-operated Maari field at the PMP 38160 permit in the Taranaki Basin offshore New Zealand, after two production wells experienced downhole faults. Both remain offline.

Lastly, Technip Energies noted in its operational review that a new FEED contract for a proposed new Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station with carbon capture and storage (CCS) at Uniper’s Connah’s Quay site in north Wales. The planned facility would connect to nearby CO2 transport and storage infrastructure as part of the Hynet Cluster, serving industries in the northwest. Eni has authorization from the UK to inject CO2 volumes into depleted offshore fields in Liverpool Bay.

Technip Energies, supported by Balfour Beatty and GE Vernova on the Connah Qay project, will use its carbon capture solution, Canopy by T.ENTM, powered by Shell’s CANSOLV CO2 Capture System.
