LONDONSerica Energy has re-started production from the Bruce platform in the UK central North Sea.

Operations had been suspended since Jan. 30 in order to secure an unused caisson, which was found to have undergone structural degradation.

Serica expects production from the Bruce and satellite Keith and Rhum fields to be fully restored over the next few days.

Chief executive Mitch Flegg said the re-start was earlier than initially anticipated, despite the team and appointed contractors having to work on what he described as some of the most difficult weather conditions experienced in the North Sea for several years.
