OSLO, NorwayRepsol has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to extend the life of the Rev field in North Sea block 15/12 until the end of 2023.

Rev, discovered in 2001, underwent development in 2007 via a subsea template and three gas production wells tied to the Armada field on the UK side of the North Sea median line.

Previously Repsol had anticipated cessation of production by the end of 2020.

Chrysaor operates the Armada complex.

In the Norwegian Sea, the PSA has sanctioned Equinor’s planned exploration well (6407/3-2 S) on the Lanterna prospect, northwest of the producing Mikkel gas field, in production license 796.

The semisubmersible West Hercules was due to spud the well last month, in 237 m (777 ft) of water.
