OSLO, Norway – Equinor has permission from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to extend the life of the Tune and Tune Sør subsea facilities in the northern Norwegian North Sea.

Tune can remain in service through Sept. 10, 2032 and Tune Sør until Nov. 14, 2025.

Tune, a gas/condensate field, started production in 2002 following a subsea tieback to the Oseberg field center, while Tune Sør was developed via a subsea well connected to the template on the main field.

The PSA has also authorized Vår Energi to use Saipem’s semisubmersible Scarabeo 8 for production drilling on the Goliat field in the Barents Sea.
