Phase 17 platform, wells nearing completion at South Pars offshore Iran

    Construction of platform 17B for phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field is 88% complete, and the structure should be loaded out of the Bandar Abbas yard by late September, according to news service Shana.

    TEHRAN, Iran – Construction of platform 17B for phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars gas field is 88% complete, and the structure should be loaded out of the Bandar Abbas yard by late September, according to news service Shana.

    Offshore installation should follow during October.

    Platform 17B is set to start production by next February: the 11-well drilling campaign is virtually complete.

    Phases 17 and 18 should add 56 MMcm/d (2 bcf/d) to Iran’s daily gas output.
