National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) has started operating the new offshore gas export pipeline for the Phase 16 development of South Pars in the Persian Gulf.

ASSALUYEH, IranNational Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) has started operating the new offshore gas export pipeline for the Phase 16 development of South Pars in the Persian Gulf, according to news service Shana.

This follows pre-commissioning and commissioning operations along with final tests of the pipeline, the Phase 16 gas platform, associated installations and onshore facilities.

NIOC expects to produce 28 MMcm/d of gas after implementing measures to protect the old offshore pipeline and connect the new one to the existing onshore pipeline system.
