TEHRAN, Iran – Platform activity is heating up at three phases of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf.

According to various reports by news service Shana, structure bracing is under way for the 2,700-tonPhase 21 platform at the Abouzar barge, which was loaded out last Saturday from the Khorramshahr Yard.

Shana also reported that the Phase 20 platform was 89% complete and should be delivered to its offshore location by August.

Phases 20/21 are both due onstream during the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.

Once operational, they should add 2 bcf/d to daily output from South Pars.

Platform 18B for phases 17 and 18 was loaded out last week from the Bandar Abbas Yard.

The 2,500-ton structure will recover 500 MMcf/d of sweet gas from the two phases, along with 20,000 b/d of gas condensate and 100 tons/d of sulfur.

Platform 19C, installed last year, is now ready for start-up and will provide production of up to 1 bcf/d.
