PETRONAS awards Ventura Offshore drilling contract for Indonesia well

Ventura Offshore has secured a $58-million drilling contract with PETRONAS E&P Bobara offshore Indonesia while also expanding its managed fleet through a marketing and operations agreement for the ultra-deepwater drillship Deep Value Driller.

Why this news matters:

  • The contract adds to growing evidence of renewed offshore drilling demand in Southeast Asia, where operators are advancing exploration and development programs to support regional energy supply.

  • Ventura's marketing and operations agreement for the Deep Value Driller expands the contractor's managed fleet while creating additional opportunities to compete for ultra-deepwater work beyond this initial PETRONAS campaign.
