Eni contracts Ventura rig for further drilling offshore Indonesia

Ventura Offshore’s semisubmersible SSV Catarina will drill a second well for Eni offshore Indonesia shortly, with options for two more wells to follow in 2026.

SSV Catarina semisubmersible rig

The SSV Catarina semisubmersible unit is designed for ultradeepwater operations.

Eni Indonesia has taken up an option with Ventura Offshore Holding for the second of four option wells.

The well will be drilled offshore Indonesia using the semisub SSV Catarina, keeping the rig occupied through first-quarter 2026. Eni may decide to exercise the two remaining options thereafter.

The estimated value of the contract is about $10 million.
