OSLO, Norway – Lundin Petroleum has approval from Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill a wildcat and a subsequent production test in license 625.
The semisubmersibleIsland Innovator should start the program this month. Operations should last roughly 45 days.
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has authorizedVNG Norge to drill well 6406/12-3 S in the Norwegian Sea, 8 km (4.9 mi) east of the 6406/11-1 S discovery and 33 km (20.5 mi) southwest of the Statoil-operated Njord field.
This will be the first well on license PL586 which was awarded early in 2011. It will be drilled by the semisubTransocean Arctic, after the rig completes work on wildcat well in PL418.
