Repsol Resources UK has awarded Archer a five-year contract.
This covers provision of platform drilling services, facilities engineering, coil tubing, wireline services and downhole well service technologies to Repsol’s fields in the UK North Sea, with the option for a two-year extension.
Archer will support late-life operations and P&A programs on platforms at the Piper, Claymore, Tartan, Saltire, Auk, Arbroath, Montrose, Beatrice and Clyde fields in the central UK North Sea, with about 130 wells covered under the P&A scope.
In March, Repsol announced it would combine its UK North Sea operations with those of NEO Energy to form a new independent E&P company, NEO NEXT Energy, with combined production this year projected at about 130,000 boe/d.
