OTC 2017: JDR, Magma Global line up composites joint venture

HOUSTON – Subsea power cables and umbilicals specialist JDR has signed a memorandum of understanding with Magma Global, the manufacturer of carbon fiber and Victrex PEEK thermoplastic composite pipe, m-pipe.

The signing at OTC on Tuesday will lead to the two companies developing new solutions to reduce the cost and extend the life of offshore oil and gas projects.

The scope of the agreement includes research, development and qualification testing of solutions, with a special focus on high chemical, high-pressure/ high-temperature applications where currently available technologies are limited.
