NEW YORK – Interconnector (UK) has chosen a suite of Infor applications to help support its operations in the southern North Sea.

Infor CloudSuite Industrial,Infor Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), and Infor Expense Management should help the company reduce costs and risk, and improve efficiency, Infor claims.

Terry Stephens, Information Systems Directorat Interconnector (UK), said: “Despite a relatively small headcount, we own and operate a 235-km (146-mi) bi-directional gas pipeline between the UK and [mainland] Europe as well as the Bacton and Zeebrugge terminals.

“We have to ensure maximum efficiency from these substantial assets and across our entire business.”

The company chose Infor on the basis of its commitment to the cloud model and the integration between Infor EAM and other solutions with Infor CloudSuite Industrial.

One of the main factors in the decision was Interconnector (UK)’s ability to personalize and extend the Infor solutions as industry changes require updates to business processes, without having to customize the solutions.

The company decided to move all its operational and business data to the cloud with a view to achieving lower, more predictable costs, and to take advantage of periodic upgrades to the supplier’s software.

Part of that drive is using advanced technology, deployed via the cloud to keep costs low so we can meet the profound changes in our industry with confidence.

Phil Lewis, European vice president for Solution Consulting, Infor, said: “Our commitment to the cloud and continuous improvement matches the dedication and expertise within Interconnector (UK) to push the gas industry forward as the industry undergoes such drastic change.”
