Spirit cleared to start Oda development drilling in the North Sea

Spirit Energy has approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for the jackup Maersk Interceptor to start development drilling on the Oda field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, NorwaySpirit Energy has approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority for the jackup Maersk Interceptor to start development drilling on the Oda field in the southern Norwegian North Sea.

Oda, in 66 m (216 ft) water depth on license PL405, is 10 km (6.2 mi) east of Aker BP’s Ula platform which will host production from the development.

This involves installation of asubsea template with two production wells tied back to Ula, and an injection well for pressure support.

The consent covers drilling of wells 8/10-B-1 H, 8/10-B-2 H, and 8/10-B-3 H. Operations are due to start on April 15 and continue for 226 days.
