STAVANGER, NorwayAibel will supply TechnipFMC with a subsea manifold and structure for an integrated foundation for Centrica’s Oda field development in the Norwegian North Sea.

Construction will continue until the second half of 2018. During this time Aibel will build and deliver various structural elements, with up to 50 employees engaged at the company’s yard in Haugesund, western Norway.

Last summer Aibel signed a four-year agreement with TechnipFMC for fabrication services. The Oda is a call-off on this contract - the field is due to start production in 2019.

Aibel’s team working on another Norwegian subsea project,Wintershall’s Maria in the Norwegian Sea, aims to complete the program by year-end, four months ahead of schedule.

The company says it has devised cost-effective solutions that have helped it reduce the required offshore hours.
Aibel is working on a module that will increase the water injection capacity from the Heidrun platform to the Maria field, in addition to associated hookup.

The module has been built, tested, and disassembled in Haugesund. It is now packaged as nine sections, ready for shipment to Heidrun, and these will be lifted into place in May.

Work then starts on installing and hooking up the module. Around 100 employees in rotation will be engaged on Heidrun throughout the project.
