SINGAPORE – Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has classed India’s first LNG-floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).

The 180,000-cu m (6.36-MMcf) vessel, built at the Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, is designed for continuous operations without the need for drydocking over a 20-year period.

Triumph Offshore, a subsidiary of Swan Energy, is the owner.

The vessel, which can operate in LNG carrier and FSRU modes, is said to comply with recently updated Rules of IRClass applicable to LNG carriers provided with a regasification system.

It has also been verified with respect to requirements of the IGC Code and IRClass Rules for Gas carriers.
