DeepOcean concludes work for North Sea Teal West start-up

The program covered installation and protection of the initial subsea facilities.

Why this news matters:

  • Teal West moves closer to delivering new North Sea production: DeepOcean’s completion of subsea installation and tie-in work is a key milestone toward start-up of Serica Energy’s Teal West development, helping bring additional gas and condensate volumes online through existing infrastructure.

  • Highlights the value of subsea tieback developments: By connecting a new reservoir to established facilities, Teal West demonstrates how operators are extending field life and maximizing returns from mature North Sea assets while reducing development costs and project timelines.

DeepOcean has finished subsea construction and tie-in work at Anasuria Operating Co.’s Teal West oil and gas development in the central UK North Sea.

The field is producing through a subsea tieback to the Anasuria FPSO, initially via one producer well connected to 3 km of subsea flowlines. The full development will feature two producers and one water injector.

DeepOcean installed a flexible production riser and flowline, and the umbilical between the FPSO and the Teal West subsea xmas tree. The scope of work included protection of the flowline and umbilical, and commissioning of the newly in-place infrastructure.

The company used an ROV equipped with specialist tooling, to avoid the need for diver intervention. Its proprietary design tie-in tool can be used for diverless connections for high-pressure flange for pipes and valves.

Under a phased approach, managed from the Aberdeen office, subsea construction and tie-in activities were completed first, followed by commissioning using a second offshore construction vessel from DeepOcean’s chartered fleet.
