The modular system will be used to deploy and retrieve SURF products on board the company’s newbuild multi-service vesselOcean Evolution and joins Oceaneering’s global fleet of flex-lay equipment.
The system, rated for more than 1,300-metric ton (1,433-ton) dynamic working load, the RDS can handle 14-m (46-ft) dia. reels weighing 800 metric tons under dynamic, sea-state conditions.
It can be configured to operate smaller and lighter loads for specific projects, and can also handle multiple reels, as well as skid fully-loaded reels up and down a dedicated track system with integrated reel cradle and support grillage.
