OSLO -- StatoilHydro has awarded Aker Solutions two contracts to deliver subsea equipment to the Visund and Troll fields in the North Sea. The contracts are call-offs from existing frame agreements.

Aker’s scope of work includes six subsea trees with control systems for the Visund field and three subsea trees with controls for the Troll field.

Aker Solutions' facility in Tranby, Norway will manufacture the subsea; subsea controls will be completed in Aberdeen, UK.

Final deliveries are scheduled for 1Q 2011.

“These contracts mark some interesting and enjoyable milestones,” says Mads Andersen, executive VP for Aker Solutions. “The three Troll subsea trees will be numbers 98, 99, and 100 that we deliver to this giant field development. We shipped the first subsea tree [to the field] in 1999.”
