Aker Solutions adapting Troll platform for North Sea Fram Sør tieback
Aker Solutions has confirmed a contract award from Equinor to prepare the Troll C platform topside in the Norwegian North Sea to receive and process production from the planned Fram Sør subsea tie-in.
Fram Sør will use existing processing capacity on the platform, 20 km to the south.
Aker Solutions’ work scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning, and services for the new subsea templates. Previously the company performed front-end engineering and design (FEED) for the project, managed from its office in Bergen.
The Bergen team and the company’s offices in Mumbai will share project management, detailed engineering, procurement and shop engineering, with fabrication conducted at the company’s yard in Egersund, Norway.
Fram Sør is due to go onstream at the end of 2029.
