Purpose-built base to deliver Technip spool order
Offshore staff
PARIS – Technip has contracted welding group Serimax to provide 62 subsea spools.
Serimax has established a quayside fabrication facility at Invergordon in northern Scotland to manage and deliver the project, which could last up to nine months.
The scope includes fabrication, welding, NDE, coating, and high pressure hydrostatic testing of the spools. These range in diameter from ¾-in. (1.9 cm) to 10-in. (25.4 cm) diameter and will involve a combination of X65/super duplex 25% Cr materials.
Specially designed neoprene-lined pipe stands will assist fit-up and should lessen the risk of coating damage during fabrication. Mobile covered work stations should minimize weather impact during final assembly, welding, and coating on the quayside.
