Contract extensions for two Transocean deepwater drillships

bp and Petrobras have taken up options to extend their contracts with Transocean for two drillships that have been working in the US Gulf and offshore Brazil.

Transocean has won work for two of its ultradeepwater drillships in the Americas, with a combined value of about $243 million.

bp has opted to extend the contract for the Deepwater Atlas by a further year, in direct continuation of its current firm program.

Offshore Brazil, Petrobras will retain the Deepwater Mykonos for a further 30 days, again in direct continuation of its existing contract.
