Bladt, Semco to construct Baltic Power wind substations

Companies will jointly supply two offshore substations for wind farm development located offshore Poland.

ESBJERG, Denmark – Bladt Industries and Semco Maritime will jointly supply two offshore substations for the Baltic Power wind farm development, 23 km offshore Poland.

Baltic Power is a joint venture between ORLEN Group and Northland Power. The development will comprise over 70 turbines, each with a minimum capacity of 14 MW.

The two x 2,500-metric ton substations, installed on foundations, will extend 20 m above the sea level. Bladt/Semco will be responsible for the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation.

Bladt brings experience manufacturing steel structures for offshore substations, transition pieces, monopile and jacket foundations at sites in Poland and Denmark. Semco develops, builds and commissions substations for offshore wind projects.

The Baltic Power wind farm will be located offshore the communities Łeba and Choczewo and is due to be completed in 2026.
