SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy — Saipem and Trevi have a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop two drilling systems for large-diameter holes to host foundation piles for offshore wind farms.
The design will accommodate site-specific geotechnical and geophysical data for the locations to be drilled and the most appropriate drilling strategy.
Saipem could then operate any equipment developed for wind farm construction projects
This MoU follows the company’s recent non-binding agreement with Havfram concerning a potential cooperation in the offshore wind sector.
