SAN DONATO MILANESE, Italy – Saipem has completed its first offshore installation campaign for the Dogger Bank wind farm development, 130 km from the coast of north-east England.

The Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farms joint venture between SSE Renewables, Equinor and Vårgrønn contracted the company to transport and install jackets and topsides for two offshore HVDC substations for Dogger Bank A and Dogger Bank B.

In addition, Aibel awarded Saipem an EPC contract for the jackets.

Each substation comprises a topside and a four-legged jacket of over 3,100 t installed in around 28 m of water, with a capacity of 1.2 GW.

Saipem’s yard in Arbatax, Sardinia built the two jackets.

The company will install the Dogger Bank B topside in 2024.
