BSEE: 84.8% of Gulf of Mexico oil production shut in

From 43 operator reports, BSEE estimates that about 84.8% of the current oil and 57.6% of the natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico have been shut-in.

NEW ORLEANS – Personnel remain evacuated from 228 production platforms and two non-DP rigs in the Gulf of Mexico due to Hurricane Zeta, according to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE).

Four dynamically positioned rigs have moved off location.

From 43 operator reports, BSEE estimates that about 84.8% of the current oil and 57.6% of the natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico have been shut-in. This equates to 1,569,517 b/d of oil and 1,561.3 MMcf/d of gas.
