AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands  The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate in the Netherlands has authorized ONE-Dyas to proceed with development of the N05-A gas field in the Dutch North Sea.

The project, which complies with the government’s small fields policy, involves the production of natural gas from N05-A and surrounding fields. It is part of the GEMS area, 20 km to 100 km north of the Ems estuary.

The N05-A platform, which will be located 20 km north of the islands of Borkum, Rottumerplaat and Schiermonnikoog, will be powered entirely by wind energy from the nearby Riffgat wind farm.

First gas should flow to Dutch and German households by the end of 2024.

ONE-Dyas added that it was exploring the potential of other gas fields in this part of the North Sea, with future developments set to undergo a similar permitting procedure.
