KUALA LUMPUR, MalaysiaHibiscus Petroleum has issued updates on the UK North Sea activities of its subsidiary Anasuria Hibiscus UK.

In January, Britain’s Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) asked the company to work with Ithaca Energy on a joint development solution for AHUK’s Marigold field in the UK central North Sea and Ithaca’s adjacent Yeoman discovery in block 15/18b.

The two companies have agreed to co-develop the Marigold resources in block 15/13a and Yeoman (now renamed Marigold East).

They are currently negotiating a joint development agreement and are reassessing the development concept to determine whether the circular FPSO Voyageur Spirit is suitable for the enlarged resource base.

Another solution under review is a tieback of the combined resources to Repsol Sinopec’s Piper B platform. A decision should follow on the preferred concept at the end of August.

In addition, the OGA has approved a farm-out agreement under which AHUK takes Caldera Petroleum (UK)’s 37.5% of the P198 license containing the Marigold and Sunflower fields.

A planned 29-day offshore maintenance program on the Anasuria FPSO started in mid-April 2021, and coincided with the planned turnaround of the offshore SEGAL pipeline.

During the process of restoring the FPSO to full production, several anomalies came to light on a key component of the subsea infrastructure, which must now be isolated from the production system.

This will result in lower overall production until the component is replaced: AHUK is assessing options for the replacement.
