ABERDEEN, UKIthaca Energy is progressing procurement for its Abigail (ex-Hurricane) subsea tieback in the UK central North Sea, the company revealed in its latest results statement.

A rig hire agreement is in place, and the Christmas tree, flowbase, and wellhead should all be delivered shortly.

Ithaca has submitted a field development plan for a tieback through the Greater Stella Area infrastructure, and is targeting first oil next summer.

Studies continue on tiebacks of Austen and Courageous in the same area.

The company is a partner to Harbour Energy in the exploration well the jackup Valaris 120 is drilling on the HP/HT Triassic sandstone Jade South prospect, with a step-out distance of 15,000 ft (4,572 m) from the Jade wellhead platform.

Jade South is in an initial-pressure, fault-bounded trap, with potential secondary reservoirs in the overlying Jurassic. If the well is successful, it would be connected to the platform as a producer.
