NEW ORLEANS --Winners of the 2009 Deep Offshore Technology International awards were announced today at the convention and exhibition luncheon.

Best Presentation went to James Jamieson of Subsea 7 for "Autonomous Vehicle Meets New Challenges." Best Technical Innovation was awarded to Dr. Lothar Birk, University of New Orleans, for "Optimizing Sea Keeping Behavior of Large Floating Systems." The George Murray Memorial Young Engineer Award went to Cecilie Drange of Aker Oilfield Services for "Taking Light Well Intervention from 1,500 to 8,500 feet."

At the close of the show today, Bob Lewis of Devon Energy in Houston won the giveaway of a Waverunner plus trailer, both sponsored by Acteon, Aquatic, Intermoor, Menck, Infield, Pegasus, Prospect, Rotech Subsea, Simmons Equipment, and T-Rex Engineering and Construction.
