KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Oil production from the offshore North Sabah PSC rose 20% during 4Q 2019, according to partner Hibiscus Petroleum.

This was due to successful results from infill drilling.

During October, Petronas approved the South Furious 30 Water Flood Phase 1 development plan. This entails drilling and completion of an infill water injection well for reservoir re-pressurization, and to assess the effectiveness of water injection pressure support in order to firm up the scope of a full-field water injection project.

Following the completion of water injector in November, topsides modifications (deck strengthening and extension works) were undertaken during the current quarter and the program is expected to finish by next month.

First water injection will be through a portable water injection module, under a two-year lease to SEA Hibiscus.

Presently SEA Hibiscus is firming up a new planned program of infill wells on the St Joseph field, targeting the major and minor Sands.
