TEHRAN, Iran — National Iranian Oil Co. (NIOC) has awarded four contracts to companies in Iran to drill 35 infill wells on the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf, according to a report by news service Shana.
The combined value of the contracts is $1.17 billion. The program is designed to enhance productivity and maintain gas production from the field.
Pars Oil and Gas Co. (POGC) will oversee that the projects will be performed over a three-year period.
POGC CEO Mohammad Hossein Motejalli told Shana plans were in place to increase production by 30 MMcm/d this winter through bringing onstream more wells at South Pars Phase 11 and platform 13A as well as a new pipeline exporting gas from Phase 16.
