ABERDEEN -- Total E&P UK has made two further discoveries in its Alwyn catchment area in the Northern North Sea. The Jura West 3/15-10 well, drilled 10-km east of the Dunbar field, intersected over 300 m of good quality Middle Jurassic Brent reservoir, all gas-bearing.

Total plans to develop Jura West via a 3-km tieback to its Forvie North subsea manifold, which is linked to the Alwyn North NAB process platform. A few weeks earlier, the company scored another success with a well drilled from the Alwyn North NAA platform. This encountered 85 m of gas condensate-bearing sands in the Statfjord formation, and 60 m of oil-bearing sands in the overlying Brent formation.
