Sofec to supply mooring spread for Sumatra floater

HOUSTON– Höegh LNG has contracted Modec subsidiary Sofec for a tower yoke mooring system for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Indonesia.

The location is 20 km (12.4 mi) offshore southeast Sumatra, in a water depth of 23 m (75 ft).

Sofec’s package will include a swivel stack assembly and riser piping to export gas through a 24-in. gas export line.

Import gas will be supplied by LNG carriers which will moor alongside for offloading to the FSRU. The system, which will be designed to withstand local weather conditions and earthquakes, has been classed by DNV.

Höegh LNG’s customer is PT Perusahaan Gas Negara.
