Mubadala, PLN enter offshore Sumatra gas memorandum

Mubadala Energy has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian power utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).

The two parties plan to assess power generation opportunities from the Mubadala-operated South Andaman blocks offshore the North Sumatra. Here, the company recently discovered more than 8 Tcf of gas at the Layaran and Tangkulo fields.

The proposed collaboration will also examine infrastructure requirements to support investments in gas processing, transportation and local economic growth.
