Shell has made a positive final investment decision (FID) on its Aphrodite gas project offshore Trinidad and Tobago, the company said June 3.
Shell Trinidad & Tobago has issued the FID on the Aphrodite gas field development in Trinidad’s East Coast Marine Area, according to Reuters and several local media outlets.
The area contains some of the company’s largest gas-producing fields such as Bounty, Dolphin, Endeavor and Starfish.
Production from Aphrodite will help backfill the Atlantic LNG complex and help the company maximize use of its existing facilities.
Assuming the proposals obtain all relevant regulatory approvals, production from Aphrodite could begin in 2027, peaking at about 107 MMcf/d.
