SLB managing construction of six CO2 wells for North Sea NEP venture
SLB has secured a technologies and services contract for the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP)’s carbon capture and storage development in the UK North Sea.
NEP, a joint venture between bp, Equinor and TotalEnergies, is developing onshore and offshore infrastructure to transport CO2 captured from industries in northeast England (the “East Coast Cluster”) for injection and storage offshore in the Endurance saline aquifer.
SLB will use its Sequestri carbon storage solutions to construct six offshore carbon storage wells. The work scope includes drilling, measurement, cementing, fluids, completions, wireline and pumping services.
NEP aims to transport and permanently store initially up to 4MM mt/year of CO2, starting in 2028.
