Expro supporting North Sea Endurance CCS well tests
Expro will provide integrated well testing services for the Northern Endurance Partnership’s (NEP) carbon capture and storage (CCS) project offshore northeast England.
NEP is a joint venture between bp, TotalEnergies and Equinor. Last December, the UK’s North Sea Transition Authority (NSTA) issued a permit for storage of CO2 emitted onshore in the offshore Endurance reservoir.
Expro’s services will support appraisal of two wells in the reservoir for future CCS suitability, with the well test team based at the company’s regional center in Aberdeen.
Results from production and injection testing of the Endurance aquifer will be used to characterize the reservoir as part of the East Coast Cluster field development plan.
Expro will deploy capabilities and technologies from its well testing, fluid sampling and analysis, and subsea business divisions. Baker Hughes will provide electrical submersible pumps, while Metrol Technology will perform drillstem testing, downhole data acquisition and wireless telemetry services.
The Endurance reservoir is thought to hold capacity to store up to 450 MM metric tons of CO2.
Expro has also supported the Northern Lights CCS project in the Norwegian North Sea.
