Aquaterra to support INPEX deepwater drilling campaigns offshore Indonesia

INPEX Masela has awarded Aquaterra Energy offshore analysis contracts to support planned deepwater drilling campaigns offshore Indonesia.

Aquaterra will perform multi-phase conductor and riser analysis for wells in water depths ranging from 600-800 m.  INPEX will use the results for decisions concerning rig selection and specification of equipment.

According to Aquaterra’s news release of September 16, the workscopes include structural analysis and definition of operating envelopes, technical limits covering weather conditions, rig movement, and fatigue. 

The company added that having early involvement in the program should help INPEX better define safe operating limits for the wells.
