ABERDEEN, UK – Shell UK has confirmed that it intends to exercise two options with Awilco Drilling under a North Sea decommissioning contract with the semisubmersible WilPhoenix.

The contract will now be extended to cover abandonment of a further five wells bringing the total to 24 firm wells, with the program now set to continue until late 1Q 2020.

Shell retains options for two further well abandonments and three exploration wells.
